MOUNTAIN BIKING – “DEATH ROAD”
A popular day trip from La Paz goes to Coroico along the scenic “Death Road” (pictured), regarded as the most dangerous road in the world, due to its notoriously high death rate ☠, this road was cut into the side of the Cordillera Oriental Mountain.
Surrounded by mountainous terrain and terrifying precipices, the winding road stretches 69kms from La Paz to Coroico, connecting the Amazonian rain-forest to the capital city La Paz.
Be adventurous to go by “most dangerous road in the world” on mountain bike!, guided by experts in a narrow and winding road carved for years by the mountain waterfalls.
Take a break along the way to admire the humid landscape that changes from the snow-covered Andes to the Amazon rainforest. Then relax at La Senda Verde Ecotourism Resort, an animal shelter where you can enjoy lunch and you can watch wildlife.
Return to La Paz the same day, or spend the night in La Senda Verde or Coroico.
